Impaled By His Majesty

Even though the prayer that the Lord taught His disciples to pray ends with these words, “for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever,” this is what we experience as we move into the holy of holies. We can no longer concern ourselves with our own needs, nor are we able to enter into spiritual warfare, because we see only the majesty of our God in the holy place of prayer. Everything else pales into utter insignificance. We do not want to war against the devil here because we see how small he really is compared to the glory of our God. We have no need to ask for our personal needs because we know that it would be impossible for the God we see to forget our needs. It is the essence of love and goodness. He is pure and holy, glorious and beautiful.

We are so aware of His holiness that, like Isaiah, we cannot boast or list our achievements or think of comparing ourselves to someone else. Pride cannot enter the holy of holies. We just want to cry out for his purity to cover us.

Isaiah 6:1-8

1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I also saw the Lord sitting on a high and lofty throne, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above him stood the seraphim, each with six wings; with two he covered his face and with two he covered his feet and with two he flew.

3 And one called to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the doorposts moved at the voice of the caller, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then I said: Woe is me! for I am lost; For I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips, for mine eyes have seen the king, the Lord of hosts.

6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he took from the altar with tongs:

7 And he put it to my mouth, and said: Lo, it has touched your lips; and thy iniquity is taken away, and thy sin cleansed.

8 I also heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send and who will go for us? And I said: Here I am; Send me.

KJV

When we dwell in the holy of holies, we come to a place where only His will matters. Our wishes and desires that are contrary to the purposes of our wonderful Lord will dissolve into nothingness. It is impossible for us to think of our selfish interests when we are confronted with His majesty and goodness. Like Isaiah, we can hear the perfect desire of our God and have no other goal than to please Him. That is why we cry with Isaiah: “Here I am, send me.”

It doesn’t matter where He wants to send us, or the cost we may be asked to pay. It only matters that this glorious one be honored by our loving obedience. When men and women spend time in the sanctuary of prayer, they are changed. The burning coal of purity is not something we fear, but rather we cry for it as we cry for water in a burning desert. We must have His purity because nothing else matters. This is why the call for holiness always leads to a worldwide revival.

One of the reasons we have not seen the move of God that we are crying out for is because few have entered the holy of holies and been struck by the burning coals of His purity. We will know when someone has been in the holy of holies because their heart will be one with God’s. Because we have been touched by His glory and majesty, when we return through the tabernacle to our daily lives, we come with a new anointing and perspective.

We are now returning to serve a lost world with God’s heart and little interest in success or the praise of men. Now we know true riches, and the things of this world seem miserable and poor compared to what we have seen. As we return up the steps that brought us to the Holy of Holies, we must return through the holy place. We are once again confronted with three pieces of furniture, but this time we have a greater view of their meaning. The incense altar smells so much sweeter and we wonder why we haven’t spent more time praising and loving our wonderful Lord. The table of presented breads smells of the sweet fragrance of obedience. We no longer think, “It is a hard thing that the Lord is asking of me.”

Our desire to listen is immediate and complete because we cannot imagine any other response. Love and full obedience is the only option. We no longer value the price because we are lost in His riches. Price means nothing to us because our only purpose is to bring glory and honor to His Kingdom.

Being bowed down by man does not affect us one bit because we live only for His glory. Now the words of the apostle Paul live in us:

1 Corinthians 4:3-6

3 But it is a small matter to me that I should be judged by you or by a human court. Actually, I don’t even judge myself.

4 I certainly know nothing against myself, and yet I am not justified by it; but the one who judges me is the Lord.

5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then comes the praise of each one from God. Crazy for Christ

Do you know someone who has spent a lot of time in the holy of holies? If so, you wouldn’t be surprised that they did, because their face and heart would change things wherever they went. Their sight would enlighten us so much that we would desire more than anything to go there.
